New Families Center


We provide Student Placement Services to families who speak a home language other than English. We have bilingual staff to work with Somali and Spanish-speaking families.

On the north side, Student Placement Services works with Hmong-speaking and English-speaking families.

Both offices have multilingual, multicultural staff available to help families enroll their children in Minneapolis Public Schools.

The New Families Center is located inside the Wilder Complex at the above address. The entrance for the NFC is at the corner of 34th Street and Chicago Avenue (four blocks south of Lake Street). Click here to go to see a map to our Offices.

By Bus:
The Chicago Avenue bus is the #5.

There is street parking available on Chicago Avenue and on 34th Street - look at signs and park carefully. There is a large parking lot across Chicago from the NFC entrance which visitors are welcome to use. There is a smaller parking lot on Chicago tucked into the middle the building with a row of visitor spaces as well.
