College can be expensive, and students have enough to worry about in their transition into college life without thinking about financial burden. Luckily, there are numerous resources devoted to assisting LGBT youth and their families in paying for college. These resources are here to support you, so please take our advice and take some time to look into these, and other scholarship opportunities for members of the LGBT community.

This scholarship is sponsored by the PFund foundation, a group based around giving financial support to LGBTQIA+ students under the belief that it is mandatory for a healthy and functional society. The PFund scholarship grants anywhere from $2,000 - $10,000. The deadline is set to be close to January 15th.

 

Who can apply:

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:

  • 17 years of age or older

  • From the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Iowa

  • Identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community

Point Foundation

This scholarship is sponsored by Point Foundation, The nations largest LGBTQ support scholarship organization. It offers anywhere from $2,000 - $4,800.

 

Who can apply:

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:

  • Proven to have a history of leadership and community involvement

  • Intending to enroll in a United States university or accredited college

  • Out as a member of the LGBTQ community

  • Enrolled for the full academic year

  • Intending to enroll in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program
